Two months later Matthew Perry Died at the age of 54 in October 2023, his death was governed an accident. This decision turned out to be far from the end of history.

A toxicology report of December 2023 concluded that Perry had died of the “acute effects of ketamine”. The report noted that Perry had received regular ketamine infusions to treat depression and anxiety, but his last infusion had taken place more than a week before his death. The gap has given way to questions about how and why Perry had ketamine in his system when he died.

In May 2024, the Los Angeles police service confirmed that they had opened an investigation in the death of Perry. Three months later, five individuals – Dr. Salvador Plasencia,, Jasveen Sangha,, Kenneth Wayay,, Erik Fleming And Dr. Mark Chavez – were struck by variable federal charges, including the plot to distribute ketamine causing death.

September 30, 2023

According to court documents obtained by US Weekly In August 2024, “after learning” that Perry “was interested in obtaining ketamine”, Plasencia would have contacted Chavez about the purchase of the drugs “so that he could sell ketamine” to the actor. The docs also alleged that Plasencia had sent a text to Chavez: “I wonder how much this moron would pay” for the substance.

After Chavez sold Plasencia, an approved doctor, “at least four bottles of liquid ketamine, ketamine pastilles”, syringes and gloves, the documents alleged that Plasencia left the medication with the former personal assistant of Perry Iwamasa and taught him how to inject ketamine so that he can administer it to Perry.

Iwamasa sent plasecia an SMS asking to buy additional ketamine bottles.

On the same day, Plasencia sent a text to Chavez asking for more ketamine for sale in Perry.

8-10 October 2023

Plasencia has sold many Ketamine bottles in Iwamasa, and met Perry in several places, including Long Beach, California, where Plasencia would have injected Perry with the substance while they were in a car.

Docs also said that on October 10, Iwamasa contacted Fleming to buy more ketamine bottles. Fleming then sent a text to Sangha, alias “The Ketamine Queen”, to obtain the drugs.

October 14, 2023

After delivering ketamine samples to Iwamasa and Perry at his residence the day before, Fleming would have gone to Perry to obtain the Drug Funds. Fleming then went to Sangha’s “Stash House” and bought 25 bottles. He then returned to Perry and delivered the drugs, according to the documents.

October 23, 2023

Iwamasa sent a text to Fleming by asking to buy more ketamine, asking by SMS: “Can we do the same as the last time in the next two days?”

Fleming then went to Perry’s home to recover money in Iwamasa.

October 24, 2023

Fleming would have bought 25 other bottles of Ketamine in Sangha, then returned to Perry to drop the medication.

October 25-27

The court documents allegedly alleged that Iwamasa administered Perry “at least” six injections of ketamine on October 25, 26 and October 27.

October 28, 2023

Perry was found insensitive in a whirlpool in his house in Los Angeles. He was declared dead later during the day.

In documents obtained by WeIt was alleged that Iwamasa injected Perry with “several doses of ketamine he received” from Fleming and Sangha, “driving death and serious bodily injuries” of the actor. The docs also alleged that Plasencia had provided the syringes.

On the same day, Sangha asked Fleming to “distance himself from the sale of Ketamine” in Perry, in particular by removing digital evidence on their mobile phones.

October 30, 2023

Fleming would have sent a text to Sangha by asking for how long the ketamine remains in someone’s system because a “toxic projection of three months” would be carried out on Perry.

December 2023

The Los Angeles County Legalist’s office has published a toxicology report concluding that Perry died of the “acute effects of ketamine”. The death of the actor was considered an accident, with drowning, coronary disease and the effects of buprenorphine (which is used to treat the use of opioids) listed as contributory factors.

May 2024

The Los Angeles Police Service confirmed that it had opened an investigation into Perry’s death, specifically focusing on how Perry obtained ketamine found in his system when he died.

August 15, 2024

The American lawyer’s office for the California central district press release announcing that Dr. Salvador Plasenciaan authorized doctor, and Jasveen SanghaAlias “The Ketamine Queen”, an alleged drug trafficker, was arrested on August 15 in connection with the death of Perry. Plasencia and Sangha were accused of a conspiracy chief to distribute ketamine.

Sangha was also accused of a premises that involved a drug involving a drug, a chief of possession with the intention of distributing methamphetamine, a chief of possession with the intention of distributing ketamine and five chiefs of ketamine distribution; While Plasencia was also accused of seven Ketamine distribution leaders and two leaders of modification and falsification of documents or files related to the federal survey.

Chavez, one of the doctors arrested in connection with the death of Perry, appeared in a court of Los Angeles on Friday August 30, after having concluded an agreement to plead guilty and cooperate with the prosecutors, according to the Associated Press. (Although he agreed to plead guilty, he did not argue during his appearance in court and will do it on a date to be determined later.)

“He has incredible remorse,” said Chavez’s lawyer, Matthew Binninger said the doctor, who agreed to put his medical license, stood by his side. “He tries to do everything in his power to correct the evil that happened here. He did not accept the responsibility today, but only because it was not on the calendar. He does everything in his power to cooperate and help this situation.”

Plasencia has made an agreement with the Ministry of Justice and risks a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison, Deadline reported.

A month after Plasencia concluded the advice on advocacy, he guilty to four chiefs of ketamine distribution.

“Dr. Plasencia has deeply remorse for the treatment decisions he has taken while providing Ketamine to Matthew Perry,” said Plasencia lawyer, Karen Goldsteinsaid in a statement at ABC News. “He fully accepts responsibility by pleading guilty to drug distribution.”

Plasencia will remain on bail until his conviction on December 3, 2025. He faced 40 years behind bars. In addition to the conviction, Plasencia will give up her medical license. According to her lawyer, Plasencia recognized her “failure to protect” Perry.

“While Dr. Plasencia did not treat Mr. Perry at the time of his death, he hopes that his case will serve as a warning to other health professionals and leads to stricter surveillance and clear protocols for the rapid growth of the ketamine industry in order to prevent future tragedies like this,” said the press release.
