Jimmy Kimmel Shares Health Update on Son Billy for 8th Birthday
Jimmy Kimmel To another great reason to celebrate his youngest child.
“Today is Billy’s 8th anniversary,” wrote Kimmel, 57 years old Instagram Monday, April 21. “It is very healthy and strong thanks to doctors, nurses, therapists and the staff of @childrensla & @cedssinai and to those of you who have sent prayers, wishes and donations over the years.”
A few minutes after birth, Billy had to be rushed into emergency heart surgery. Months later, he had to undergo a second open -hearted surgery.
In May 2024, Jimmel confirmed his son third and “Hopefully final” Open heart surgery to have a valve in your heart.

To celebrate Billy’s last milestone, Kimmel asked fans and subscribers to pay him and support the Los Angeles children’s hospital while working to save more lives every day.

In response to the position, the Los Angeles children’s hospital wished Billy a happy birthday before expressing their gratitude for the vocal support of Kimmel.
“We are very honored to have been part of your trip,” the hospital wrote in the comments section. “Thank you, Jimmy, for your continuous support and to have enlightened the incredible strength of children like Billy.”
Kimmel – who also shares the girl Jane, 10, with his wife Molly McNearney and Katie, 33, and Kevin, 31, with the ex-wife Gina Maddy – has been opened on Billy’s health difficulties since birth.
He also continued to thank the doctors and health workers who took great care of his son.
After Billy obtained his third surgery from the open heart, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! The host was quick to thank the hospital staff for their “kindness and immeasurable expertise”.
“Walking in this hospital, meeting parents in their most vulnerable, suffering children and miracle workers who do everything in their considerable power to save them is a humiliating experience,” he wrote via Instagram. “We hope you never need Chla, but if you do it – know that they help families, whatever their ability to pay, thanks in large part to the Act respecting affordable care (another salute to the deceased Senator John McCain), generous donations of companies like Disney, for whom I am proud to work for and especially generous people like you.”
Kimmel added: “Nothing is more important than taking care of each other.”
