Charlize Theron Makes ‘Snide’ Remark About Stars At Jeff Bezos’ Wedding

Before the wedding, the demonstrators gathered several times in Venice, promising to disrupt the celebration.

Some local activists said their protest was rooted in opposition to Bezos’ “pride” and “law”, which they called “feudal suzerain”.

Two groups of activists, Greenpeace and everyone hate Elon, also unveiled a massive anti-Bezos banner that boldly displayed the words “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more taxes.”

The groups also published a joint declaration to highlight their requests, stressing that Bezos pays much less in taxes than someone with their level of wealth.

“Jeff Bezos is the second richest man in the world, but he would pay a real tax rate of 1.1%,” they said, according to the Daily mail. “The several million dollars marriage would occur over three days, the wedding ring alone on its own up to $ 5 million.”

Despite the reaction surrounding the wedding, reports claim that the city of Venice had to generate more than a billion dollars by organizing the celebration.

This figure would represent nearly 68% of the city’s annual tourist income, drawn by extensive logistics organized for the couple and their guests, as well as the reception services.

As part of the wedding festivities, the couple has reserved dozens of water taxis, effectively reserving a large part of the city’s fleet.
