DCC’s Kelli on ‘Tricky’ Relationship With Dayton and Mom Shelly
Victoria Kalina‘s get out of DCC did not mean that there would be a lack of mother-daughter (and conflict) content on season 2 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
Viewers followed Dayton BramhallThe daughter of the former Dallas Cowboys pom-app and choreographer and coordinator of the current event Shelly BramhallWhen the show returned on Wednesday, June 18. The 2024-25 season marked the second time of Dayton to try for the team – when it was cut the last time, there was residual damage caused between Shelly and the DCC director Kelli Finglass.
“It was difficult to navigate,” said Kelli US Weekly In an interview when he asked him questions about the similarities between Victoria and her mother, Tinaand Dayton and Shelly. “Nothing would have changed the decisions on whom the team made, but, yes, I think there is a small scar fabric from Victoria and Tina – just we see a friend and a girl from a friend and emotion in their own houses that we may not see normally for us to look too.”
During season 1, Victoria suggested that Kelli was very hard with her to avoid the allegations of favoritism that come from the narrow friendship of Kelli and Tina. Although Victoria was not cut off from the team, she was never placed in a management position and had the impression that she had been criticized stronger.
“In the case of Dayton, she returned, she tried hard and it was a competitive year and she was not in the Top 36, so we had to make this decision. It is not easy to share this message,” continued Kelli. “She arrived at the training camp and we only expected the best for her. The training camp is where it started to become a little outdated, but it went to the training camp and in place alone. I am therefore proud of her for that. ”

With the kind authorization of Dayton Bramhall / InstagramWhile Shelly suggested on the Netflix Show that Kelli and the choreographer Judy Trammell should have told him updates on the status of Dayton directly on the team, Kelli did not agree
“The relationship we have with Shelly is personal and professional, and we all stayed professional on this subject,” said Kelli Wecalling it a question of “integrity”.
Kelli explained: “We do not call mothers first on anyone auditioning. It is a professional hearing. There are HR considerations. We wouldn’t do it. I heard Shelly say that and it makes sense to her, but that would not have been how I would have managed. ”
